  • Yes, we provide fully customised deck designs tailored to your needs and preferences. Our team works closely with you to create a design that suits your home, style, and outdoor living needs.

  • All decks installed by Dynamic Decks and Patios in Brisbane feature a durable steel frame, which resists termites and prevents rot.

Our purlin frames are constructed from galvanized steel, offering exceptional strength and the ability to span larger distances, which provides greater design flexibility and ensures safe construction. Unlike timber frames, galvanized steel frames are resistant to rot and warping, ensuring long-lasting durability.

Our enclosed beam system offers all the advantages of a purlin frame, but with the added benefit of concealed fixings, resulting in a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing finish.

On top of the frame, we use either hardwood decking or composite decking.

Hardwood is a natural decking material known for its strength, durability, and visual appeal. One of its key advantages is that wear and tear can easily be addressed—your deck can be sanded and re-stained to maintain its beauty and extend its lifespan. We offer a selection of high-quality hardwood timbers, including Kwila/Merbau, Jarrah, Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, and Ironbark.

Composite, or eco-decking, is a pre-finished, sustainable material that mimics the appearance and texture of timber while minimising environmental impact. It is highly durable, long-lasting, and requires no maintenance. Additionally, fixings can be concealed using Kleva Klip systems for a sleek, seamless finish.

For handrail, the most commonly used materials are timber or aluminium. Our aluminium handrails are 75mm x 50mm in size and are powder-coated to match the colour of your deck posts. Timber handrails are typically crafted from laminated Kwila hardwood (available in 90mm or 145mm) or pine, and are often selected to complement any existing handrails on your home.

For balustrades, the most common types of materials we use are timber, stainless steel wire, and aluminium. Timber balustrades are made from either pine or hardwood and are a great fit for traditional Queenslanders. Stainless steel wire or aluminium balustrades are typically used in more modern homes, with aluminium often selected to match pool fencing.

For stairs, we use galvanised steel stair stringers and step treads that are made from P4-rated hardwood timber, which offers slip resistance for added safety and compliance.

  • Costs vary depending on the size of the project, materials used, and site conditions. If you would like a quote, please contact us. We will conduct a site visit and provide you with a free, personalised estimate.

  • Absolutely! We are not just Brisbane decking experts, we are patio builders too, and we love a good deck/patio combo. For more information about patio design and construction, please click here.

  • Maintenance will depend on the materials you choose:

Timber decks require regular cleaning, staining, and sealing are to protect against weathering and decay. Composite or PVC decks are low-maintenance, but occasional cleaning is recommended to keep them looking great.

  • The time frame depends on the size and complexity of the project, but typically it takes one to two weeks to build a deck.

However, the entire process from quote to clean up is around 4 to 8 weeks, assuming there are no delays with council approval.

Our Services

Ground Level Decks

A ground-level deck typically sits around 300mm above the ground and does not require handrails. The steel frame is a simple box frame that can be placed on any level surface within your outdoor area. Compared to elevated decks, ground-level decks offer several benefits. Their straightforward design requires less preparation and support, so they are easy to construct, and they require fewer materials and less labor which means faster installation and lower cost.

Split Level Decks

A split-level deck is an excellent option for yards with uneven terrain or varying elevations. Dynamic Decks & Patios can design a custom split-level deck that maximises the potential of your outdoor space. This type of deck features multiple levels at different heights, typically connected by stairs or a ramp, creating a tiered effect. Split-level decks are a stunning addition to any outdoor area, offering designated zones for different activities, such as a BBQ area, dining space, and more. Beyond their visual appeal, they provide versatile ways to enjoy your yard. Often regarded as the "Rolls Royce" of decks, a split-level design adds a unique feature to your backyard, offers flexible design options, and significantly boosts your property value.

Low Level Decks

Low-level decks can be built up to 990mm in height and do not require handrails. They are ideal for areas with uneven terrain.

Low-level decks offer several advantages over elevated decks. In addition to being both practical and attractive, they have fewer safety requirements and with fewer design complexities, they are often more cost-effective.

High Level Decks

A high-level, elevated, or raised deck is typically an extension of the upper level of a home. These decks require railings around the perimeter and a building permit. Designed to complement your home’s architecture, a high-level deck is a stylish addition that enhances both the usable outdoor space and the overall value of your property. The deck’s durability depends on the quality of materials used and the expertise of the builders, which is why it's best to trust the skilled professionals at Dynamic Decks & Patios with your project.
